Every Bahá'í is supposed to read from the Writings every morning and evening. It doesn't mean that we have to sit for hours and study, reading just a line can be enough. The Holy Writings of the Báb and Bahá'u'lláh are like nourishment for the soul and taking in small bits regularly keeps the soul alive and satisfied. The last few weeks I have been studying 'The Four Valleys' of Bahá'u'lláh. I take a line or so a day and ponder over it. To be honest, this book is difficult to understand for me. But last night I read the following line:
Love is a light that never dwelleth in a heart possesed by fear.
and suddenly a door of understanding opened. This open door leads me to a new room in my spiritual progress (I hope) which I am anxious to discover. Gods ways are mysterious.
